Spotlight: Shes pretty talented in my opinion...

So i first saw her wrk on facebook. Next sent a friend request, and started visiting he blogsite frequently in which she displays all of her pieces. Which you guys should check out HERE Her pieces are unique and always impress me anytime i look upon something different. I use to draw myself when i was younger so i really do appreciate great art. My interest grew so much towards her work that i was able to grow enough courage of asking her for a little q&a for swc, and obviously she accepted...lol I was really taken back and intriuged by her stuff and i really think that you guys would enjoy as much as me are even more.Learn,Read,Enjoy. .Name
Nandi (Loaf) Icart-Pierre

.Age
!8

.Location
Brooklyn, NY

.What/Who are your inspirations?
Eh, thats a question I always have a hard time answering because there are so many answers to it…but to list a few: life, death, simplicity, physical expression, line, Egon Schiele, girls, sex, the anatomy of the face and Nandi Loaf because she's dope =]

.When did you discover your passion for art?
My father is an artist so I guess it's just in me. I have no memory of me not drawing or not wanting to draw, I've been doing it since day 1.

.Do you remember your first piece?
Hmm, actually my very first piece(s) and commissioned job was given to me when I was like 9. One of my mom's close friends had me do 5 small paintings of different types of houses in Brooklyn. I haven't seen them in years, I don't even remember what they look like lol

.How does art play a role in your everyday life?
How does it not? I can't live without art, food and water…and Bacon.

.You coming from the city, does that influence your work in anyway?
I would say that it impacts my thought process heavily. Most of my ideas and pieces are influenced by everything that surrounds me. I mean New York City is a crazy place to be, how could it not influence me lol

.Where do you see yourself in the next 5yrs?
Struggling lol, like most artists, but in 10 years I hope to be on the last page of "501 Artists You Should Know," so watch out for that lol

.What are you doing now?
I'm in the process of working on this series of self portraits that all show how difficult, interesting and amazing being 18, jobless and gay in NYC is. I only have two pieces in this series right now but there is so much more to come so stay posted.

.Whats next for you?
Breathing… I have no idea what's next but I hope it's good.

If you want to stay up to date on what I'm doing, check out some of my doodles, and even decipher some of my thoughts then subscribe to my blog and stay posted http://bunnyinthetoaster.blogspot.com/ ... =]
